Poppystamps Fall Thank You

Robin Tharaldson1 Comment

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing my Poppystamps Thank You card with you. This card uses the Stitched Oak Trio and Stitched Maple Trio die sets from Poppystamps 2017 Holiday release!

PS Aug 30 Full.jpg

Another card using my growing pile of "can't throw out, will be useful for another project" cardstock scraps! I will never us them all and one of these days I will just fill my trash can and start over! The detail in the Fall leaves add interest and texture, plus I love almost anything stitched.

PS Aug 30 CU1.jpg

The Thank You Streamer die was cut three times and layered using spray adhesive. I flicked a warm gold metallic watercolor onto the wreath and card front.

PS Aug 30 CU2.jpg

To keep my wreath round I used one of the Pointed Circle Frame dies and attached my leaves. I added glue to the base of the leaves ONLY; it made it much easier to tuck the leaves in and add where needed.

Holiday Blog Blitz - Magical Christmas with Poppystamps

Robin Tharaldson1 Comment

Hi everyone! GREAT news, I'm a member of the Poppystamps Design Team! I'm still doing my happy dance; do you think it will count as cardio?  This is my first post for Poppystamps and I am very excited to be a part of the Holiday 2017 release. If you haven't seen the Holiday 2017 release you really need to grab a cup of coffee/tea and a chair and just sit and take a look!

I used several new dies and stamps from the Holiday 2017 release, My double fold card features the Open Hillside, Sloping Hillside and Snowscape dies along with the word dies "believe" and "magic". My double fold card started with a 5 1/2" x 12" piece of white cardstock; I then scored at 4" from each end.

This is the front panel...

This is the second panel...

And here is the third panel!

I used the Do You Believe stamp set to add my sentiments and the star, from the same set, was heat embossed using silver embossing powder.

I cut the words believe and magic from glitter cardstock. To add dimension, the words were also cut 2x each from white cardstock, glued and layered together along with the glitter words. To finish my card I added Stampendous Crystal Snow to the trees and hillside.

Be sure to leave a comment, you have until August 17, each day of the Poppystamps Blog Blitz, for your chance to win a preselected die. The prize for today is the Sloping Hillside die used in my post today! Winners will be announced August 18th! Good Luck!!!

Here is an easy Mother's Day Card using Lawn Fawn products. With a change of sentiment this card could be for many occasions.

The flowers were made using the Flower Power die set and patterned paper from the Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Petite Paper Pad.

I created the opening using Zig Zag Circles and Scripty For You.

It's been awhile...

Robin TharaldsonComment

Well, it has been a very long time since I last posted.  What can I say?  Life happens and the older you get the faster time seems to slip away.  Two weeks before Christmas, DH and I went fishing for 10 days on the sportfishing boat Excel! Had an amazing time fishing down the coast of Baja California; I caught my first Wahoo, Grouper, Yellowfin and a bunch of rock cod!

We did not get home until December 22!! Oh my, won't do that again!  It was a bit of a "push" to get Christmas dinner together AND clean the house.  Never did get the tree up, lol!

Then off to CHA with Lawn Fawn...

It was a lot of work setting up the booth, decorating and helping with orders! My feet were tired to say the least...BUT it was fun!!!

Then DH had BOTH knees replaced, yup both!! He handled it very well and after about a week he was walking WITHOUT his walker.

There were about 60 to 70 staples in each incision! As you can see I have had my hands full!

So, I hope to post more often but I am semi retired now, working at Lawn Fawn a couple days a weekj and if another fishing trip comes up, I'm gone!

Thanks for stopping by,

Give Thanks with Lawn Fawn!

It's almost turkey day! Hope your turkey is thawing, all your grocery shopping is done (almost) and you will have time to (maybe) put your feet up!

I have been working at Lawn Fawn (I know...way too cool!) for the last few weeks and it is overwhelming! All their products, in one place, totally sensory overload! I get to see the NEW release weeks before and even get to play with it!  AND there is a special "something, something" for you on Black Friday, so hop on over to their blog and sign up for the newsletter to find out all about it!

My card starts with a top fold kraft card base. I cut a piece of paper from the perfectly plaid fall petite paper pack at an angle and adhered it to my card base.  I then cut a kraft piece with the same angle and embossed the edge with a die from the stitched borders die set, added it to the top of my card and sponged all edges with walnut ink.

The Fall leaves were cut using stitched leaves and small stitched leaves die sets from cardstock and paper from the perfectly plaid fall petite paper pack. On one of the leaves I heat embossed "give", from the thankful mice stamp set, in gold.

The scripty thanks was cut, 3 times, from dark brown cardstock and then stacked together for a more dimensional look. I added a natural cord bow and a few sequins to finish the card!

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
